Maid Cafe!
Ashley and I nerded out a bit today and went to a "Maid Cafe" which means that the server wore Japanese style maid outfits and the food was super cute. They called us princesses and we cast "spells" on our food to make it delicious. It was too cute and we had a ton of fun.
I'm really glad we're keeping up with one themed cafe a week. I'm hoping next time that we go to the Husky Cafe where they have a ton of husky dogs you can play with! I mean in Thailand there are temples, beaches, clubs, etc. but I think this was one extra thing that I knew I wanted to experience while here. It really helps to make my trip a bit more mine and a bit more unique. Also it gives me an excuse to spend a little bit extra on ridiculously cute foods which makes me so happy....
After the Maid Cafe, we went down to the McDonalds because it is Always worth it to eat McDonalds in every new country you go to to see the differences. They have specific things here that would NEVER be on an American McDonalds menu like rice items but I just was craving french fries and a burger so I got that, I'll try the definitely Thai things next time.
I was in the car the other day with some German guys and they reminded me what bread was...Which in all honesty has been a damper and disappointment in my life. This whole two weeks I've managed to be content and forget about bread but now they reminded me of the beauty that is well baked bread, warm with butter, and I realized how much I miss both of those things and especially in combination. I've got some weak sandwich bread that I use in the morning with jam as part of my breakfast but it's just not the same.... I also miss potatoes (in a form other than fries), pasta, and tons of other western food. Really though, bread and butter is up there. Especially the nice type that's got a crisp and butter crunchy exterior and warm center... yeah. I'm a little bummed they reminded me about bread...
Ashley and I at the maid cafe being "princesses" and wearing bows!
My black forest cake came with a super cute drawing
Always worth a try in every new country
Had this before McDonalds and it well worth it!
